Kids Book Club: Banned Books Edition

It’s Banned Books Week at the library. Every year books are removed from library and school shelves for a variety of reasons. This week is celebrated to remember the importance of our freedom of speech and our freedom to read.

The Forest Park Public Library Youth Services Department will be holding a Banned Books edition of the monthly Kids Book Club with Pizza on Wednesday, September 29 at 4 p.m. We will be reading Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark by Alvin Schwartz.  This book has been challenged at many libraries.  We will be talking about banned books, telling some scary stories and, of course, eating pizza!  There is still time to check out the book and sign up!  Click here to register

Do It Yourself Sandals

Thanks to everyone who showed up for our first Kids Do-It-Yourself Club of the fall season.  Even though summer is pretty much over, we wanted to extend it a little longer.  With some plastic floor mats and rope, we created our very own pair of sandals.
