Stuck inside with nothing to do?

When it’s too cold to go outside, stay in and craft! Check out Kids Crafts Weekly, it’s an online newsletter, put together by an Australian mum who loves to do crafts with her kids. I love this site because her crafts are easy, unique and inexpensive. All 62 themed newsletters, full of creative and fun craft ideas, are archived under the newsletters link.

Fun and Fortunes To Be Had at the Library

Our 5/8 Club (our monthly arts and crafts program for fifth through eighth graders) celebrated the Chinese New Year in style by giving ordinary Chinese takeout boxes an upgrade and transforming them into snazzy change purses and memento boxes. We also told fortunes using Chinese fortune sticks. All signs indicate that this will be a fortuitous year indeed at the library!

More New Card Superstars!


The new library cards keep coming for our Forest Park kindergarteners! The library was recently visited by this fantastic class from Grant White Elementary. Twelve kids received their first library card during the visit. Congratulations, everybody!
